PHILOSOPHY
THE TUTOR-STUDENT RELATIONSHIP
At 3D Tutoring, we believe the tutor-student relationship is paramount. Having a strong connection motivates the student to reach his or her potential. We believe tutors should be mentors and role models to their students. We acknowledge that there is no one-size-fits-all plan when it comes to tutoring. Each student has unique needs, goals, abilities, personality, and preferred learning style. We do our best to match our tutors to students based on the student’s wants and needs. It is all about the right fit.
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
Without persistent work and dedication, the student cannot thrive. Whether preparing for a standardized test or studying for an academic subject, hands-on learning is the key to success. Active practice yields the greatest results. This is why we encourage students to practice with our extensive library of real tests.
SETTING GOALS
Whether the goal is to score higher on the ACT or to earn better grades at school, we aim to provide students with the skills to succeed on their own. We help our students develop a plan and encourage them to cultivate these skills so that they can perform to their best ability in and out of the classroom. Common goals/skills we work on with our students include:

-
Strengthening executive function (working memory and cognitive flexibility)
-
Developing time management techniques
-
Inhibitory control (minimizing procrastination and limiting distractions)
-
Organizing thoughts on paper (essay planning, thesis building, textual analysis)
